Project questions

Commercial entry-door glass repair questions

Common questions when shattered glass affects an operating aluminum entry door.

Can broken commercial entry-door glass be fixed?

Shattered door glass is normally replaced rather than patched. The full repair can include cleanup, temporary board-up, measurement and installation of a new glass panel in the existing door.

Can the glass be replaced without replacing the complete door?

Often, yes. If the aluminum door, frame and glazing opening remain suitable, a new glass panel can be installed in the existing entry door.

Can broken entry-door glass be boarded up temporarily?

Yes. Temporary plywood protection can secure the damaged door until the correct replacement glass is ready.

Is entry-door glass the same as fixed storefront glass?

No. Entry-door glass moves with the operating door, while fixed storefront glass remains in the surrounding commercial frontage.
